Always think before you act. Then, think again. Also, for a third time

Then act.  If you think of what you are going to do at least three times and you weigh all the possible outcomes that you can think of, your chance of success is at least 25% better than if you think first, then act, without thinking through the actions that you are about to take on.

Fourteen years ago, I had the opportunity to one of two things.  Be unemployed, and look for a job, or, take over the companies that I had been working for over the previous ten years.  I thought about it. I prayed about it.  I spoke to a trusted friend, who sadly, is no longer with us.  He said that it looked like a viable option.  So I thought about it some more.

In the end, I took over both c.ompanies.  Fourteen years later, we are still in business, still servicing customers, making people happy, both with our products and our services.

Has it always been easy?  No.  Will it ever be time to call it quits?  Maybe someday.  But I tend to be bullheaded and think that what I’m doing is useful, if even only to a small segment of the population.

As I told someone a long time ago, I don’t need to dominate a market.  I need to provide top notch quality service, and top notch quality customer service, to back those two things up.  And in those arenas, I believe we have prevailed.
